A hum of acknowledgement leaves him and Oswald settles aside his papers, gesturing to the seat across from him. “Please.. join me.”

A waiter brings another bottle of wine and he gestures for both glasses to be filled, a slight twinkle in his eye as he lifts his own. “I hope you find your employment enjoyable. I do try and take very good care of my employees. We’re much like a family here.” He has his henchgirls, the three birds that shadow him. They are truly family to him, but he ensure the rest of his employees are paid well. Then they can’t complain….

             👑 ––– The boy takes the seat offered to him, politely thanking the waitress when she filled the glasses before taking the spare and lifting it slightly in response to the other doing so. He’d not had nearly enough time with his late father to learn everything he should have, but the man had been particularly good at making himself seem likable and it was a trait Ignatius both resented and hoped he’d inherited in equal measure. In this moment, he was leaning slightly on the side of wanting it, though; Making a good impression now would be integral if he planned to get anywhere in the future.

               👑 ––– ” I do - Find it enjoyable, that is.” There’s a part of him that doesn’t find that a total lie and Ignatius pushes that part to the forefront of his answer. There was something about working for Penguin that felt familiar and that had certainly been a comfort. “It is no replacement for a boy’s relationship with his mother, but this is the family I have and I am grateful to you for even that.”
